The monthly Pecuniary help to the selected 100 poor and destitute people was given at the Ramakrishna Math Ooty on 25 May 2022. Totally 76 beneficiaries received this month of which 9 were Males and 76 were Females.


Each of the beneficiary was provided with Rs 200, Buns and two bananas.

The Monthly Retreat was held on Sunday the 29th of May 2022. Totally about 150 people participated in the half day retreat. 

The day started with Puja and Bhajans. At 9.30 Dr K Damayanthi and Devotees started the Bhajans and then at 10.30 Devotional Songs  was continued by Swami Shanmugananda Bhajanai Sabha Meekeri.

At 11.30 Meditation for 15 minutes and then a discourse in Tamil by Sri Mohan, Thangadu. 

At 12.40 Sivapuranam was recited, continued by Sri Ramakrishna Archanai by Srimat Swami Raghaveshananda Maharaj.

At 1.00 PM Arati was conducted and Annaprasadam distributed.

National Youth Day 2022

The National Youth Day (Birthday of Swami Vivekananda according to English Calendar) & Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (Celebration of 75 years of Indian Independence) was celebrated at the Ooty Ramakrishna Math on Wednesday 12th January 2022 with following programs. 

Sri J.J Goodwin (stenographer of Swami Vivekananda) breathed his last at Ooty in the year 1898. At 10.00 AM respects were paid at the memorial  by Swami Divyanamananda and few devotees and Rev Jermiah Alfred (CSI, St Thomas Church).  

At 11.30 AM in the Ramakrishna Math auditorium Bhajans were conducted by Ayyappan and group and students, followed by speech on Swami Vivekananda by Students of Vivekananda Memorial Matriculation school, Mpalada continued by the speech of Mr Arjunan, Correspondent of the school. 

A 30 minute talk on Swami Vivekananda was given by Rev Swami Raghaveshananda highlighting some of the life stories of Swami Vivekananda and what the students should derive from his life. 

The program ended with the singing of the National anthem after which Sumptuous Lunch was provided to all the students and teachers and few devotees who participated in the program.

In the evening Online program was conducted where Rev Swami Raghaveshananda spoke about Swami Vivekananda for 15 minutes followed by a lecture by ISRO Scientist Mr TGK Murty (Retd) on the subject “Swami Vivekananda and Modern Science”. 

The program ended with the chanting of the Vishnu Sahasranama. There were 373 total views to the program.

By the blessings of Sri Ramakrishna, Kalpataru day was celebrated with Spiritual fervour in Ramakrishna Math Ooty on January 1 2020 at the Ramakrishna Math premises in the Afternoon.   

The Kalpataru day Programme started at 2.30 PM with Bhajans   from a group from Adhigaratty and local devotees, which was continued with Meditation and Sri Ramakrishna Archanai. Swami Raghaveshananda gave a speech on the importance of Kalpataru day and explained about its significance and the story behind it. 

After the Speech, Arati was conducted and finally the programme ended with the devotees given sumptuous Prasad. Around 450 devotees participated in the function.

On 21st December 2019, a colorful function of pecuniary help was conducted at Ooty Ramakrishna Math. 

150 poor and destitute people were distributed Blankets, Jackets and Rs 200.00 cash for the winter. 

This group also consisted of 50 members of mentally affected, orphans and beggars. Sri Jayanta Roy and Sri Joyadeep Kundu were the chief guests for the function. The function concluded with everyone being provided with a sumptuous meal.

SWAMI VIVEKANANDA JAYANTHI ( 17 01 2020)


Swami Vivekananda Jayanthi was celebrated with Spiritual fervour in Ramakrishna Math Ooty on January 17 2020 at the Ramakrishna Math premises. 

The Swami Vivekananda Jayanthi Celebrations Programme started at 8.00 AM with Special Pooja and Bhajans from local devotees, which was continued with Rudhra Prashna and Vedic Chanting at 9.30 AM. Swami Raghaveshananda gave a Tamil discourse on Swami Vivekananda highlighting the Four yogas between 10.30 and 11.15 AM. 

After the discourse, Sri Ramakrishna Archanai and Homa was conducted and finally after Arati and sumptuous Prasad, the programme ended with Devotees singing Bajans for about 2 hours. Around 400 devotees participated in the function. 

Calendars of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother and Swami Vivekananda were distributed to all the devotees who participated in the function.

Bhagawan Sri Ramakrishna Jayanthi Celebrations ( 25 02 2020) The 184th Jayanthi Celebrations of Bhagawan Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa deva was celebrated with Spiritual fervour in Ramakrishna Math Ooty on February 25th 2020 at the Ramakrishna Math premises. 

The Jayanthi Celebrations day started with the regular Mangalarathi and Vedic chanting at 6.00 am and with a Special Puja at 8.30 am. Receitation of Sri Vishnu Shahasranama chanting took place at 9.30 am followed by Bhajans of local devotees. At 11.15 am Sri Ramakrishna Archanai was recited and followed by Homa at 11.45 am. 

A Speech in Tamil on Sri Ramakrishna was given by Swami Raghaveshanandaji Maharaj at 12.45 pm after which Arati was conducted and finally the programme ended with the devotees given sumptuous Prasad. 

Around 350 devotees participated in the function.

We are glad to inform  that Ramakrishna Math, Ooty has taken up Covid 19 Relief work in a small humble way.  
  1. On Request from DSP of the Nilgiris District, the Math has provided much needed N-95 Masks to 200 Police personnel. 
  2. Math has provided a basic health kit consisting of Soaps, Tooth brush and paste, oil and Woollen blankets to around 70 destitute people (daily beggars).
