The 163rd Jayanthi Celebrations of Swami Vivekananda was celebrated with spiritual fervour at Ramakrishna Math, Ooty. 


As usual Mangala Arati and Veda parayanam was conducted at 6.00 AM. At 8.00 AM special puja was conducted.


At 9.30 AM Bhajans by Dr R Damayanthi continued by Sivapuranam Recitation and Archanai was done lead by Swami Satyayuktananda. Between 10.30 AM and 11.45 AM Bhajans were sung by Swami Harivratananda. Homam was conducted at 11.45 AM


At 12.45 PM Discourse in Tamil by Swami Harivratananda was conducted followed by Arati at 1.30 PM. 


Finally at 1.45 PM sumptuous prasad was distributed to the devotees. Around 100 devotees participated in the half a day function.

Special puja, Homam and Annadhanam was conducted at the Renovated Karuvalur Mariamman temple which is associated with the Ramakrishna Math, Ooty. Renovation was done at a cost of Rs 25 lakhs with support from The Chellaram Foundation. The function was celebrated with Spiritual fervour on 20 January 2025. 


The Programme started at 09.00 AM with Special Puja conducted by Srimat Swami Raghaveshananda and Swami Satyayuktananda continued by Homam by Swami Satyayuktananda. Parallely Bhajans were sung by Swami Harivratananda (Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Coimbatore) between 09.00 AM and 11.00 AM


At 11.00 AM Swami Harivratananda gave a discourse in Tamil on Swami Vivekananda


At 12.00 Noon “Thiru Vizhaku Puja” (worshiping the Lamp) was conducted in which more than 100 women from in and around Ooty participated. 


Finally the programme ended with the devotees given sumptuous Prasad. Around 375 devotees participated in the function.

At the Math premises Swami Vivekananda’s Birthday was celebrated. The program consisted of Pooja, Bajans, Discourse, Homa and Arati.

 

  The day started as usual with the Mangalaarati and Vedic chanting at  6.00 AM. Swami Vivekananda Jayanthi celebrations started with a special pooja at 8.00 AM.

 

  At 9.30 AM, Bhajans were sung by local devotees, followed by recitation of  Sri Vishnu Sahasranama chanting led by Doctor Damayanthi at 10.00 am, followed by Ramakrishna Archanai and Shivapuranam led by Srimat Swami Raghaveshanandaji Maharaj at 10.45 am, continued with Homa at 11.45 am conducted by Swami Parahitananda Maharaj and  followed by a small discourse on Swami Vivekananda by Srimat Swami Raghaveshanandaji Maharaj.

 

Arati was conducted at 1.30 PM. About 175 devotees participated from different villages. Finally the programme ended with the devotees given Sumptuous Prasad.

Swami Vivekananda Jayanthi was celebrated at the Ramakrishna Math Ooty on 25-01-2022. The Day started with Mangala Aarthi and Vedic Chanting at 6.00 AM. A Special Pooja was conducted at 8.00 AM. Sri Vishnu Sahasranama Chanting was held at 9.30 AM continued with Bhajans at 10.15 AM. At 10.45 AM Archanai to Sri Ramakrishna was conducted led by Swami Raghaveshananda Maharaj. At 11.15 Bhajans were conducted by Adikareety Aiyappan Bhajanai Kuzhu which was continued with the Shivanama Sankirthana by Swami Lakshmishwarananda.

At 12.00 noon a discourse on Swami Vivekananda was done by Swami Raghaveshananda in Tamil which was continued with the Arati. After the Arati, Prasad was distributed to all the people who attended the function.

About 40 school students were provided with a Note book, Pen and a Pencil at a cost of Rs 1000.

Pecuniary help was conducted where about 100 people were distributed with Rs 400 and a pair of Socks and a Cap and were sumptuously fed.

Outside the premises at the Abdul Kalam Trust, about 100 people were distributed with a pair of Socks and a Cap and were sumptuously fed.

The winter wear (Socks and Caps) were provided at a cost of Rs 10000. Overall about 400 people were provided Prasad which costed about Rs 28000.
