The 2nd Swami Vivekananda’s Inter School Sports Competition was conducted on the 22nd and 23rd of February 2023 to commemorate the 161st birthday celebrations of Swami Vivekananda . The sports competitions were held at the Vivekananda Memorial Matriculation School(VMMS), M Palada.
This year, Volleyball for Boys and Girls, Throw ball and kho-kho for Girls were the competitions which were conducted. More than 20 schools comprising of 500 players and 30 coaches, participated in the sports competition.
The competition started on 22nd February 2023 with the chief guest being welcomed by the Vivekananda Memorial Matriculation school band and the chief guest hoisting the national flag. After the traditional lamp lighting ceremony the welcome address, first days programme and rules and regulations were read out by Miss Archana Nahatta. The Sports meet torch was lit by the Chief guest and taken around the ground by all the captains of the participating schools and then finally lit up by S Naveen of Vivekananda Memorial Matriculation School and then continued with the Oath taking ceremony after which, the sports meet was inaugurated by the chief guest

Srimat Swami Raghaveshananda and Srimat Swami Parahitananda presided over the function on both the days.
Day -1
The games that were conducted on the first day 22 February 2023, were Throw ball for girls and volley ball for boys.
In throw ball there were two qualifier rounds and two semifinals at last the final Match was between Holy angles and G.R.G Valaithottam. Holy Angels Thummantty school students were the Winners and G.R.G Valaithottam were the Runner - up.
In volley ball match for boys there were 3 qualifier rounds, 2 semi finals. The final match was between VMMS and GRG. GRG Valaithottam has won the match., and they were the winners, where as VMMS were the Runners –up of the match.
All the winners and runners-up participants were taken photos in order to print in their respective certificates.
Day -2
The games that were conducted on the first day 23 February 2023, were kho kho and volley ball for girls.
In kho kho there were 5(five) qualifier rounds among various schools, 2 semi finals and a final. The final was between Holy angels and St.Ann’s Aruvangadu. The winners of the game was St.Ann’s Aruvangadu and Holy Angels were the Runners-up.
The other game was volleyball for girls. There were 2 semifinals and a finals directly.
The final was between VMMS, M Palada St.Joseph convent Coonoor. The winners were VMMS, M Palada and a Runners-up St.Joseph convent Coonoor.
On both days Good delicious food was given to all participating students, staff and coaches. Tea and snacks were also provided for every one present in the school premises.
The Award function will be held on 12th March 2023 on the occasion of the Annual Day celebration of the Math to all the winners and runner up of the competitions with awards, medals trophies and certificates.
