The Swami Vivekananda Scholarship Distribution Ceremony took place on August 13, 2023, at Ramakrishna Math, Ooty. The event was a significant gathering of students, parents, and devotees, aimed at recognising academic achievements and providing support to deserving scholars. The ceremony unfolded according to a well-structured program, fostering a sense of spirituality, learning, and community.
The program commenced at 2:00 PM with a serene atmosphere created by the soulful chanting and melodious bhajans performed by Swami Satyayukthanandaji Maharaj. This initial phase invoked a sense of calm and devotion, setting the tone for the rest of the event.
From 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM, the proceedings were initiated with an introduction by Srimat Swami Raghaveshanandaji Maharaj, offering insight into the significance of the ceremony within the framework of the teachings and philosophy of Swami Vivekananda. This introduction paved the way for the upcoming discourse by Swami Buddhidhanandaji Maharaj, enriching the audience with profound insights and perspectives.
A highlight of the event was the discourse delivered by Swami Buddhidhanandaji Maharaj from Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Coimbatore. The discourse, spanning from 3:00 PM to 3:45 PM, enriched the gathering with insightful teachings, guiding the attendees towards holistic growth and understanding.
The ceremony's spirit of giving and support was exemplified in the distribution of spectacles from 3:45 PM to 4:00 PM, a contribution made possible by the "Inner Wheel Club of Ketti Valley." Their grant of 20000 Rs ensured that visual aid reached those in need, reinforcing the Math's commitment to the welfare of the community. A total of “36” old and poor people were beneficiaries for the total amount of Rs 24,840/-
Embracing Swami Vivekananda's belief that education is a potent tool for empowerment, the distribution of Swami Vivekananda Scholarship to deserving students took place from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM. This gesture not only recognised their academic excellence but also showcased the Math's commitment to nurturing educational aspirations, resonating with the ideals of holistic development advocated by Swami Vivekananda.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of Prasad at 4:30 PM, symbolising the blessings and goodwill shared among all attendees.
The Swami Vivekananda Scholarship distribution was particularly noteworthy. A total of "96" students were beneficiaries of this initiative, receiving a collective amount of “5,42,000” Rs to aid their educational pursuits and this will continue for some more days to the total amount of Rs 10 lakhs. This act reflects the Math's commitment to empowering the youth and cultivating a generation of leaders. In addition to the Scholarship a book was issued to all the Scholarship beneficiaries containing the lectures of Swami Vivekananda given at Tamil Nadu.
The event witnessed remarkable participation, with approximately 225 students, parents, and devotees attending the ceremony. The confluence of like-minded individuals under the umbrella of Ramakrishna Math marked a heartening display of unity and shared values.

At the conclusion, a hearty tiffin was served to the attendees of the event, featuring items such as upma with chutney, kesari, bajji, and tea.
